Will certifications be extended for students with 3M Safety training fall protection certificates?

Yes. In light of the covid-19 situation, we are granting a temporary extension for certification. A student with a certificate showing an expiry between March 1, 2020 and August 3, 2020 will be extended August 4, 2020. A new certificate is not required. We can provide a PDF letter confirming the extension if necessary.

NOTE: If a student has a certificate for the 6116 course which was our former OSSA accredited program, that certificate is subject to guidance from Energy Safety Canada who has indicated that anyone with an OSSA accredited card with an expiry between January 1, 2020 and September 1, 2020 shall remain valid through September 1, 2020.

NOTE 2: If a student has a certificate for the 6212 course which is our Working at Heights program, approved by the Chief Prevention Office of the Ontario Ministry of Labour, the following extension applies:

  • The extension will apply to workers who successfully completed their working-at-heights training between February 28 and August 31, 2017. The validity period, normally three years, would have ended this year. It will now end in 2021.
